Tips to get the best Havelock rental home experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Indian Beach. Reserve your Havelock rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the best rental:

  • Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Club B302, Oceanfront Condo in Indian Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
