How to get the best Havelock rental home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the best vacation rental in the Havelock area:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Summer Breeze beach and boaters retreat. Brand new house with tons of activities has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
