Strategies to get the best rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Summer months are high season in the Havelock area. Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. The Pinnacle - OCEANFRONT Home. Amazing Views, Pool, Hot Tub, 2 Kitchens,\nDeck has 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Know before you go:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
