Tips to get the best rental home experience:

When to book a Havelock rental home & When to go:

  • In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer is high season in the Havelock area. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect rental home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Tar Landing Villas 204, Oceanside Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
