Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To book the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Havelock attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing the right Havelock rental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Village West #16, Oceanview Townhouse in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
