Tricks and tips to get the best Havelock vacation home experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Emerald Isle. Booking in Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best rental home in the Havelock area:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. WATERFRONT! Tranquility bytheSea, CShoreBeachHome, Across from Beach onthe Sound has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If not, call the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you long to visit, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
