Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- To get the best rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Havelock attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing a perfectrental home:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Point in A Place At The Beach, your oceanfront resort destination! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is suitable for your trip.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
Advice for a great stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
