Tricks and tips to get the optimal Havelock rental experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Finding the perfect vacation rental:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. WOW Ocean Views! Newly refurbished. Awesome amenities! Beach Front property. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
