Tricks and tips for getting the perfect rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Havelock area. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing and booking the bestrental:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. A Place at the Beach resort Family Fun!150'Waterslide, indoor pool&Putt Putt has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
