How to get the best vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Summer is high season in Emerald Isle. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First, have your family decide on trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Large pool & just steps to the largest\/least populated beach on Emerald Isle! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
