Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. Booking your Havelock vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 4BR, Pet Friendly, Ocean Front - Unique Style has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If not, call the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is right for your family.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
