How to get the best rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Havelock vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Havelock area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- First, have your group agree to the best dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanside Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC-Anchors Away Unit 3 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
- If there's an individual Havelock attraction you simply love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
