Strategies for getting the perfect Havelock rental experience:
When to reserve a Havelock rental home & When to go:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. To find the largest rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to pick the best rental home in Emerald Isle:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. \"Rest Ashored\" just steps from the ocean! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
