Havelock vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking your prefectrental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Atlantic Beach Resort-Ramada by Wyndham has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is best for your group.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
