Atlantic Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Havelock rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. Reserve your Havelock rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
