Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Emerald Isle vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Havelock restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and pick the right Havelock rental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Toes in the Sand ???? Drink in Hand! 2 Decks, Views throughout, Great location! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
