How to book the best Havelock vacation home experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Havelock area. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Barefoot Bungalow at Atlantic Beach! Pet-Friendly! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you book the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Havelock beach you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
