Strategies to get the perfect Emerald Isle rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. Book your Havelock vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best vacation rental in the Havelock area:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. UPDATED Sea-renity EAST near boat ramp has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
