Tips to get the best Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by having your group agree to dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Tommy's Bahama! in A Place At The Beach Resort on the OCEAN & the BEST pools! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your trip.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More considerations:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
