Booking the best Atlantic Beach rental home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. Booking your Havelock vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area travel guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the best rental in Atlantic Beach:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Tommy's Bahama! in A Place At The Beach Resort on the OCEAN & the BEST pools! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
