Strategies for getting the best vacation property experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and choose the perfectrental:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Complex, First Floor Southwinds, Ocean & Sound Views, 2 Pools! has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- If there's an individual Havelock beach you are enamored with, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
