Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Havelock rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your Havelock vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First, have your family select trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Townhouse Condominium has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
