A cavernous, family-friendly, art-filled home just a block from the Taylor's Creek waterfront and a short walk to the appealing downtown Beaufort historic district, Beau-coup offers a comfortable, convenient base from which to discover "America's Coolest Modest Town" and the gorgeous Crystal Coast landscapes and waterways of the Rachel Carson Reserve, Fort Macon State Park, and Cape Lookout National Seashore, with their pristine beaches, uninhabited islands, and rich history and maritime cultures.
Located in a peaceful residential neighborhood and adjacent to the oldest home in Beaufort (c. 1700)—where Blackbeard the pirate reportedly briefly resided—our relaxing family home features four bedrooms, two full baths, a enormous, modern kitchen, and plenty of common space (including a living room with ample seating, front porch with swing, back screened porch with couches, and an ample back yard patio) to host up to eight guests. We're just a block from the water and a ten-min. walk to downtown, the ideal spot for a peaceful visit to one of the most interesting, beautiful, and unique coastal towns in the South, the jewel of the Crystal Coast. Come visit us in Blackbeard's backyard!
We provide guests with a unique code for unrestricted, twenty-four hour entry to the home. You'll have the entire property to yourselves and total privacy.
Although we visit Beaufort as often as we're able, we live a few hours away in Chapel Hill. Please message us with any questions, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Please carefully read our home manual and broad local guidebook, both available here upon booking, for details, rules, and recommendations for local activities, exploration and recreation, and dining.

Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Havelock rental home experience:
Finding the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking your prefect Havelock rental home:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. BEAU-COUP: A spacious, family-friendly home a block from the water in Beaufort. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
