Strategies to get the very best Havelock vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- First and foremost, have your group select dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. FALL GETAWAY!! Beat the heat. And the crowds! Ocean view from 3rd floor deck. has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
- If there's an individual Havelock beach you love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
