Finding the best Havelock rental home experience:
When to visit Beaufort & When to reserve a Havelock rental home:
- To get the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select your dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. South ACK-Lil bit of Nantucket in Beaufort NC! Book now for summer! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If they are not listed, call the host before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
