Tips for getting the best rental home experience:

Getting the best value:

  • In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Beaufort. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the best rental home in the Havelock area:

  • Select your vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beau Coast Resort Amenities! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
