Our top Havelock rental home tips:
When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to book:
- Summer is high season in the Havelock area. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Beautiful Bogue Shores 1st Floor Studio with Beach & Sound Access has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Havelock beach you long to visit, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
