Getting the best Havelock rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best rental in the Havelock area:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Front With Ocean Views has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
