How to get the best Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the perfect rental:
- Select vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Beautiful Home in Oceanfront Location w\/Vaulted Ceilings, Free WiFi, Deck, W\/D has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If not, contact the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
