How to get the best rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Booking in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing and booking the rightvacation home:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Third-row beach cottage with deck, grill, washer\/dryer & screened porch has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
