Tricks and tips to get the perfect Atlantic Beach rental home experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the perfect rental home in the Havelock area:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Beautiful oceanside cottage, steps away from the beach. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
