Our top Rental home tips:
When to book a Havelock rental & When to go:
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing the perfect Havelock rental:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Family affordable & close enough to all the fun stuff! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
