Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing the perfect Havelock rental:
- Select your dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. One Bedroom Carriage House- 131 Craven Street\n300 feet from Beaufort Waterfront has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, email the host before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you are crazy about, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
