Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. To get the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Havelock attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your group select the best dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Why Knot Getaway…Rooftop with WaterView! Unit E has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a particular Havelock attraction you crave, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. text the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
