Tips to get the perfect Havelock rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. To get the largest rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the perfect vacation home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Charming Soundside Home including Golf Cart, Kayaks, Bikes & Linens-Emerald Isle has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Know before you go:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
