Havelock vacation rental home tips:
How to get the best value:
- Summertime is high season in Emerald Isle. To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting and booking yourrental home:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Classic oceanside home offering private pool and easy beach access. has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
- If there's a specific Havelock destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
