Booking the best vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. To find the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Completely Renovated *Single* Beachfront Home Sleeps 10 has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your family.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a great stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
