How to book the best vacation property experience:
When to book a Havelock rental home & When to go:
- Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental in the Havelock area:
- Start by having your family commit to dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Coral Shores #4-Ocean Front Condo in Pine Knoll Shores, NC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
