Tricks and tips to get the perfect Havelock vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the largest rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose the perfectvacation home:
- Begin by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Cross Pointe, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a specific Havelock destination you love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a great stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
