How to book the best Emerald Isle rental experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing and booking the perfectvacation home:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Custom Beachfront Home, Oceanfront Oasis to relax and recharge. has 2 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
