How to find the best Atlantic Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. Booking your Havelock vacation rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to select the perfect vacation rental in the Havelock area:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean-side condominium with pool. Fully-equipped for relaxed vacationing. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.

- If there's a certain Havelock destination you long to visit, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
