Tricks and tips to get the optimal Havelock rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Atlantic Beach rental home:
- June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. Book your Havelock rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking the bestvacation home:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Ocean-side condominium with pool. Fully-equipped for relaxed vacationing. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If not, call the host before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
