Tricks and tips to get the perfect Havelock rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Havelock vacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Direct oceanfront\/ A Place at the Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
