Tricks and tips for getting the perfect rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- To get the best value, change your family's Havelock vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect rental in Pine Knoll Shores:
- To start, have your family agree to dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Dock Holiday! with Boat Dock & Pet Friendly has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
