Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Havelock vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Summer is high season in Beaufort. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by having your group commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sound Front Townhouse-South Breeze has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If there's a certain Havelock beach you love, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. text the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
