Rental home booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. Booking your Havelock vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose yourrental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Blue Water D105; Oceanview condo, Atlantic Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
