Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Havelock vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book a perfectrental home:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. The Lookout at Queens Court has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a particular Havelock attraction you long to visit, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
