How to find the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Book your rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Book now! Only a few weeks left! WOW Views! 4 BR,2 BA, Sleep 9 adults, 2 kids. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Contact the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
