Booking the best rental home experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- To find the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to pick the perfect rental in the Havelock area:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. NEW Listing - OFFSHORE BLUE - Sound Front Home 4 BR 2 Bath has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
