Tricks and tips to get the perfect Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- To get the largest rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Havelock attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Filter your search:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Family and Pet Oriented Home That Will Assure You of Wonderful Memories has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
