Strategies to get the very best Havelock rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- To get the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting the best vacation home:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Beaufort by the Sea - end unit townhome, spacious, pool, and other amenities! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
