Tips to get the very best Havelock rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Emerald Isle rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best vacation home in Emerald Isle:
- Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. OCEANFRONT 4BR, 2 BA House at the Point! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
